OHIO: Community Cats 101 in Dayton!

Want to help save cats and kittens? One of the very best ways to make a change is to hit the streets and trap! Come out and learn everything you need to know about community cats, Trap-Neuter-Return and hear heart warming rescue stories in this two-hour interactive workshop with Kitten Lady, Hannah Shaw. We'll have a fun, information-packed morning hosted by Gem City Catfe.

This event will cover the ins and outs of TNR including:

-Background information about community cats, their behavior, and their needs

-Detailed information about why and how TNR saves cats and kittens' lives

-Step-by-step instructions on how to safely and humanely trap cats and kittens

-How to handle various scenarios including moms with babies, friendly cats, feral kittens, and more

-How to provide effective and positive ongoing care to a colony of cats

Please join us for one or both of these free, fun seminars focused on saving the most at-risk feline populations: neonatal kittens and community cats. Hosted by Midwestern University’s Companion Animal Clinic and featuring social media activist, Hannah Shaw, also known as "Kitten Lady."

We'll start with a two-hour "Saving Kittens" workshop from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM. This is a comprehensive and fun way to learn more about fostering in your community. It will cover:

  • Basic care for orphan neonatal kittens

  • Feeding, bathroom, and medical care

  • How to set up your home for kittens

  • Selfcare and compassion fatigue

We'll take a one-hour lunch break from 12:30 to 1:30 PM.

In the afternoon, we'll reconvene for part two, "Community Cats 101" from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM at the Midwestern University Companion Animal Clinic. This segment will cover:

  • Background information about community cats, their behavior, and their needs

  • Detailed information about why and how TNR saves cats' and kittens' lives

  • Step-by-step instructions on how to safely and humanely trap cats and kittens

  • How to handle various scenarios including moms with babies, friendly cats, feral kittens, and more
