RIFF AND RAFF

ORIGIN: Riff and Raff came to Kitten Lady in a box, and they were hissy feral babies. You can learn how to socialize feral kittens here

ABOUT THE KITTENS: Once these two got over the fact that they were feral (which didn't take long), they became such lovers and were super playful! They got lots and lots of lovin’ from kitten lady volunteers in order to socialize them, and they loved to purr once they learned how nice humans are.

JOURNEY: During their time with the Kitten Lady, they were really going strong until Riff started fading pretty quickly. Fading Kitten Syndrome (FKS) is a common and fatal set of symptoms impacting orphaned kittens with weakened immune systems. Riff received plasma therapy -- a SQ injection of blood plasma which helps vulnerable kittens fight infection. Always consult a vet if you see signs of FKS like diarrhea, weight loss, and lethargy. He started making a recovery and was well on his way to adoption with his sister, but after receiving his vaccines, he got sick again, (which can be a common reaction post-vaccination), but since cats have nine lives, and Riff is a fighter, he made a full recovery.

WHERE ARE THEY NOW: Riff and Raff live with a hedgehog named Prickles. Their adventures can be found at Riff_and_Raff on Instagram. They also appear as their former hissy selves on a spooky Kitten Lady t-shirt which you can buy here.
