Kitten Lady offers inspiring and educational workshops for animal shelters, conferences, cat conventions, and other animal-friendly hosts.
Conferences and Conventions
Kitten Lady is a regular speaker at industry conferences and cat conventions, offering talks which span from fun and entertaining to in-depth and instructional, with all talks tailored to the needs of the specific event. Shaw has lectured at national conferences such as Animal Care EXPO, Best Friends National Conference, and Animal Rights National Conference, and large conventions such as CatCon and CatCamp NYC.
Kitten Lady's shelter training workshops are designed to provide thorough and accessible training opportunities to shelter staff, volunteers, and members of the community with the goal of reducing the euthanasia of cats and kittens in the shelter system.
In a 2016 survey conducted by Kitten Lady, more than 50% of kitten foster parents reported that their shelter offered no training in the care of kittens, and there was a strong inverse correlation between training and mortality rates in foster homes. For this reason, Kitten Lady is committed to offering robust resources that support animal shelters and improve outcomes for kittens.
